What better place to kick off the 2009 Trithlon season than a pre-season Tri at 2 world class venues!!  The US Trisports Spring Sprint Tri offers a perfect start to your racing season.  With a 'swim-first' pool swim in the Olympic pool at Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center (KOPFC), a great bike course and run course with a finish on the indoor track of the Utah Olympic Oval, this one is sure to be a classic.

Swim (400 Meters)

The swim course will take place in the 8-lane 50 meter Olympic pool at the Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center directly adjacent to the Olympic Oval.  Unlike most pool-swim triathlons, racers start off swimming with athletes entering the water at timed intervals to keep pool crowding at a minimum.  Swimmers will start at one end and zig-zag to complete the 400 meter swim.

Bike Course (20 Kilometers) **Updated Course**

Athletes will exit the transition area on Morning Breeze Dr. turning left immediately onto Highwood Dr and then right onto Sara Jane.  At the intersection of Sara Jane and 5400 S, bikers will cross to the north side of 5400 heading west. (Police will control this cross-over point to ensure bikers can safely proceed.)  Athletes will head west toward the 111 Bacchus Highway.  The 5600W / 5400S intersection will have Police stationed on the north / south bound lanes to control traffic and let bikers proceed safely.)  Upon reaching Highway 111, bikers will merge into the right lane heading north.  (UDOT will be closing the right lane between 5400 S and 4100 S for the race.) Bikers will exit at 4100 S and head east until reaching 6400 W where they will turn south and cross over to the south side of 5400S.  (Police will be controlling this intersection to give bikers the right-of-way crossing.) Heading east, bikers will turn right back onto Sara Jane and return to the transition area.
