The Stansbury ParkTriathlon is the grand finale for the 2010 Salt Lake Triathlon Series.  This race takes place at Stansbury Park Lake, located just 20 minutes from Downtown Salt Lake. This beautiful community offers triathletes of all experience levels a great open-water swim, a fast bike course and a great run through the community and out onto "the island". The Transition Area is ideally located right next to the lake and provides athletes a fast transition from the swim and onto the bike where this super fast course will take you through some country roads. With loads of open space and flat straight-aways you'll be able to see the competition, making for a fun and exciting race. We look forward to seeing you all there!

COURSE INFORMATION

SWIM (750 Meters Sprint / 1500 Meters Olympic)

The swim course will take place the the west of the boat ramp.  (Do not walk on the boat ramp as it is extremely slippery) The swim course will consist of a single 750 meter loop which will be completed one time by Sprint-distance athletes and twice by Olympic-distance athletes. Racers will begin the swim portion in waves, determined by age group and distance. Waves will begin approximately 5 to 10 minutes apart, depending on number of racers. Once a racer completes the swim portion of the race, they will run to the transition area, where they will prepare for the bike portion of the race. Olympic swimmers will complete 2 loops.

Athletes will then transition onto Lakeview Road and follow that around onto the island. At the end of the island is a roundabout which will allow athletes to make the return trip back to the finish line. Olympic athletes will turn around and complete the course twice by using the turnaround at the Golf Clubhouse which will be clearly marked. The race will finish by the large Pavilion located on the Golf Course near the

CANCELLATION, REFUND AND INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

Once registration has been completed you will not be able to cancel or transfer your registration for any reason. The race directors and/or USAT Official reserve the right to modify or cancel any or all portions of the triathlon if weather conditions are deemed to be unsafe. In addition, portions of the race may be cancelled or altered if water quality level, bike course safety and run conditions are deemed to be in any way unsafe on race day. In the event of cancellation or race course alteration, the race director and US Trisports will not be able to provide refunds.

PARKING

All event parking will be at the LDS Chapel located on 417 E. Benson Rd.

There is absolutely no parking at the Clubhouse near the lake!  Athletes parking there will seriously damage our chances of holding a race there again. It is a short walk from the chapel to the Transition Area. Please park at the Chapel and then walk to the TA. If you have family or friends with you, we would suggest leaving them on the curb by the entrance to the TA (It will save them the walk...)

USAT SANCTIONING

US Trisports races are all sanctioned through USA Triathlon and a USAT Certified Referee will be onsite for every US Trisports race to ensure that all USAT rules and regulations are followed. Be sure to familiarize yourself with all the rules before racing.
