The Salt Lake Triathlon Series kicks off at Stansbury Park lake, located just 20 minutes outside of Salt Lake.  This beautiful community offers triathletes from all experience levels a great early season open water swim, a fast bike course and a great run through the community and out onto the island.  The Transition Area is ideally located right next to the lake and provides athletes a fast transition from the swim and onto the bike where this super fast course will take you through some of the country roads.  With loads of open space and flat straightaways you'll be able to see the competition making for a fun and exciting race.  We look forward to seeing you all there!

Transition Area:

The Transition Area is located directly north of the Stansbury Park Clubhouse, just across a short footbridge.  The TA is ideally situated to allow athletes a speedy transition from the swim to the bike.  The bike in / out is located around a turn-about to the north of the parking-lot and enables easy access in and out of the transition are to the bike course. The run takes racers back across the bridge, along the lake and onto the run course onto the island and back.  Athletes will appreciate the close proximity to the lake, the safe transition to the bike course and accessibility to the run course.

Swim (750 Meters sprint / 1500 meters olympic)

The swim course will take place directly off of the boat ramp, adjacent to the green area at the end of the bridge from the transition area.  The swim course will consist of a single 750 meter loop which will be completed one time by Sprint-distance athletes and twice by Olympic-distance athletes. Racers will begin the swim portion in waves, determined by age group and distance.  Waves will begin approximately 5 to 10 minutes apart, depending on number of racers.  Once a racer completes the swim portion of the race, they will run across the bridge to the transition area, where they will prepare for the bike portion of the race.

Bike Course (13.2 Miles sprint / 26.5 Miles Olympic)

Athletes will exit out of the transition area onto Stansbury Parkway and travel East till the intersection of Stansbury Parkway and State Route 36.  A right-hand turn onto SR 36 will take racers south till reaching Erda Way.  Traveling West for just over 4 miles, athletes will turn north on Sheep Lane until transitioning onto State Route 138.  The course follows SR 138 for 4.6 miles till reaching Stansbury Parkway which will take Sprint-distance athletes to the transition area.  Olympic-distance athletes will bypass the TA and continue through Stansbury Parkway and turn onto SR36 and complete the course a second time.

Run (5k sprint / 10k olympic)

The run course will begin at the transition area and will take athletes back across the bridge to the lake area.  Athletes will then transition onto Lakeview Road and follow that around onto the island.  At the end of the island is a roundabout which will allow athletes to make the return trip back to the finish line.  Olympic athletes will turn around and complete the course twice by using the turnaround at the Golf Clubhouse which will be clearly marked. The race will finish by the large Pavilion located on the Golf Course near the Clubhouse parking lot.

US Trisports races are all sanctioned through USA Triathlon and a USAT Certified Referee will be onsite for every US Trisports race to ensure that all USAT rules and regulations are followed.  Be sure to familiarize yourself with all the rules before racing.  Click on the USAT logo to the left to see the most commonly violated rules.

RACE dAY PARKING

All event parking will be at the LDS Chapel located on 417 E. Benson Rd. (MAP)

There is absolutely no parking at the Clubhouse near the lake!  Athletes parking there will seriously damage our chances of holding a race there again. It is a short walk from the chapel to the Transition Area.  Please park at the Chapel and then walk to the TA.  If you have family or friends with you, we would suggest leaving them on the curb by the entrance to the TA  (It will save them the walk...)

Cancellation Policy

Once registration has been completed through Active.com you will not be able to cancel or transfer your registration.
